The William Hackett ATEX SS-C4 QP Chain Hoist is designed, manufactured and proof load tested in the UK. It complies with the requirements of ATEX Directive 2014 / 34 / EU and Machinery Directive 2006 / 42 / EC.
We have analyzed all components of the C4 hoist and identified the components that have a potential spark risk. A spark can be generated from fast moving components such as the pawls on the ratchet gear. The WH ATEX SS-C4 QP chain hoist uses surface technology to develop the components making it safe to use in hazardous environments.

SAFETY FACTOR: 4:1
TEMPERATURE RANGE: -40°C to +135°C
LIGHT LOAD CAPABILITY: tested and certified at 2% of the chain hoist rated capacity.
QUAD PAWL (QP): Delivers twice the engagement points, giving you noticeably finer, more precise load adjustments than standard two-pawl designs.
SPARK RESISTANT: copper plated hoist components and stainless steel hand chain makes the hoist safe to use in hazardous environments.
SAFETY LATCHES: hooks are fitted with heavy duty cast steel latches. The latch and hook tip are interlocking, creating a strong and robust hook closure.
HOOK OVERLOAD AND TRACEABILITY MARKS: hooks have overload indicator marks either side of the hook throat. Both top and bottom hooks are embossed with a batch code, manufacturer’s mark and the working load limit.
HAND CHAIN JOINER: a unique hand chain joiner is used as a quick and secure method of joining the hand chain.
HOOK HOUSING: secured with socket head cap screws/hex head bolts and nyloc insert locking nuts to allow full inspection.
FLEETING/CROSS HAULING: independently tested (test report 2550-7615) for fleeting or cross hauling applications. Certified to angles up to 60° from the vertical without deration of the WLL.
LOAD CHAIN: fitted with load chain that fully complies with BS EN818-7 Grade T (8).
